Läckö Castle stands on a rocky headland on the south shore of Läke
Vänern. From the windows on the north side your can see the lake
as far as the eye can see. Below the palace to the north west you
will find the guest harbour and the jetty from which you can take
a tour of beautiful Ekens archipelago on board M/S Magnus Gabriel.
Our popular camping site is situated on the other side of the harbour
inlet. Next to the camping site you can hire a kayak and paddle
out to the archipelago. To the South East of the palace you will
find a beach, the café and pedal boats.
West of the harbour is an ongoing project which began in summer
2007 in connection with the celebration of H.R.H. Crown Princess
Victorias 30-year birthday. In the unique nature of Västergötland
and the cultural environment of Lake Vänern and Läckö Castles, a
meeting place is being projected : "Naturum Vänerskärgården
- Victoriahuset".

Here is served delicious Vänern specialties and harvest from the walled

The Museum Shop
In the Läckö Museum shop you can find artefacts and literature associated
with the history of the palace. How about a material in cotton and
flax printed with the pattern of a painting in the castle, cushions,
aprons and kettle-holders? There is also a popular souvenir in the
brass candlestick which is a replica of the one on the third floor
of the castle. In this shop you can also find garden tools of all
sorts and local handicraft, souvenirs, tea and sweets. Children have
their own corner with weapon shields, swords and princess crowns.
