The treasury at Läckö Castle
- Luxurious objects from the era of Sweden as a great power.

Precious metals, exotic materials and the creativity of mankind are in focus when luxurious objects from the time of Sweden's greatest power finally can be exhibited. This is an exhibition full of eye-catching objects but the baroque luxury is not only frivolity and splendour, it brings the establishment into focus.

Läckö is the natural choice since Magnus Gabriel De la Gardie was a man of wealth and splendour and is considered to be the one who brought luxury to Sweden.

The treasury at Läckö proves that an astonishing amount of the riches of the 17th century are preserved due to the peaceful history of Sweden.

The exhibition is dominated by artifacts but there is a wide range of exhibits.

Grape- and nautilus goblets, are surrounded by silver dishes and pots. Here you can find the colourful Urbino 'fajan' set of Queen Kristina and miniature portraits of Magnus De la Gardie. Amber boxes are glowing next to the De la Gardie turtle set and brittle Venetian glasses.

The Läckö Castle Treasury has been rendered possible by a substantial donation from Sparbanksstiftelsen Lidköping and a loan from the government collections of Nationalmuseum.
This makes the Läckö Castle Treasury one of the exhibitions with the largest amount of objects of its kind.

It is produced by Nationalmuseum in cooperation with the Foundation of Läckö Castle and Statens Fastighetsverk and is one of the permanent exhibitions of the castle.
