Description
Cecilia Jansson's art explores how personal identity is shaped by society over time and highlights the tension between the individual and societal structures. She has had successful exhibitions and residencies around the world, including the Swatch Art Peace Hotel in Shanghai and the School of Visual Arts in New York.
Her art is about highlighting the tendency to categorise people into simplistic groups based on racist, religious or misogynistic philosophies.
We are incredibly proud to welcome Cecilia Jansson to Läckö Castle this summer!
"Working in front of historical royalties who during their lifetime experienced, started and prevented wars, has had an impact on this exhibition, as well as the time in which we live, and the place Läckö Castle. The title Värn alludes to our timeless need to protect ourselves."
