The main courtyard has amazing acoustics and the summer opera at Läckö Castle is well-known and beloved far outside of the borders of the Västergötland region – even Sweden’s borders. It does not matter if there is a storm or a heatwave, the audience always finds its way to the magical castle to enjoy everything from Mozart to Benjamin Britten.

since 1997
It all started with a single person standing alone in the empty courtyard, not able to resist trying their voice against castle walls. Now, more than fifty singers, musicians, creators, and stage technicians take over the courtyard every summer in the evenings to transform it into a unique opera scene.
The opera production has become a natural part of Stiftelsen Läckö Slott’s (The foundation of Läckö Castle) mission towards its visitors: to provide cultural history and cultural experiences in an enriching way.
