Opera in two acts by Lars Johan Werle after the novel “Drottningens juvelsmycke” by
C.J.L. Almqvist
Libretto Leif Söderström
Musical arrangement Hans Ek
Sung in Swedish
”Drottningens juvelsmycke” (The Queen’s Jewel) by Carl Jonas Love Almqvist was published in 1834. With its combination of political thriller and erotic dream game, it became an outstanding success.
The story of the androgynous character Tintomara – from the shot at Gustav III, to the silence in Solna forest – is retold in Werle’s beautiful, melodic opera from 1973.
Who is she? Boy, girl, lover, killer, savior? Real or a fantasy creature? Maybe she’s just plain Human.
Below is the cast of the postponed production of 2021.
We hope that everyone will be working with us in the summer of 2022, but will update names later on.
