Guided tours
in the Castle
During most of the year you can enrich your visit to Läckö with a guided tour in the castle. The guide will take you on a journey through history, teaching you about how the castle came to be, what role it played in the society, and who the people were that lived here. If you are interested in any particular facet of history connected to Läckö or Swedish history, you are more than welcome to ask the guide to learn more. We do offer regular tours in English.
During the summers you can also explore many rooms in the castle on your own, with both permanent and visiting exhibitions.

Adventures for children
Läckö is an exciting place to visit for children, both young and old. Here you find a variety of ways to explore both nature and history together in a thrilling environment.
In naturum Vänerskärgården – Victoriahuset you can always find an exhibition about nature adapted for children. Listen to different creatures of nature tell you about their lives, play games about nature, and study bugs under a magnifier (or why not your own thumb?).
During the summers Läckö Slott opens up for the children to explore history in their own ways, with treasure hunts, theatre shows, and Scary Läckö (a tour for the bravest children to walk in corridors where no adults are allowed).

Destination Läckö-KinnekulleLake Vänern
Djurö Archipelago represents Swedish scenery and the natural features of one of Europe’s largest lake. The seclusion is one of the major fascinations. Few archipelagos in the country are as isolated as this beautiful island group in the middle of Vänern. To get there you must travel at least eight kilometers over open water. In 1991 it was designated a National Park and naturum Vänerskärgården is the naturum connected to Djurö.
In the middle of Lake Vänern, furthest south in the pearl necklace of island which make up the Lurö Archipelago Nature Reserve, lies Lurö, about one hour’s boat ride from Värmlandsnäs in the north or Kållandsö in the south. Man has found his way here from time immemorial. Some came to live and till the fertile land, to sell their fish or to provide lodging for pilgrims in the shelters belonging to the monks, and later on in Lurö’s Inn. In Luringen’s Guest House the tradition of hospitality continues.
Join us on a guided boat trip to Lurö or Djurö. Or follow Navens kajak on a kayak adventure, a two hour excursion with our guide. We also offer family paddling in stabile canoes to Stora Eken, for exciting expeditions in the shoreline, the forest and the skerries. Of course, you can also rent a kayak and paddle out on your own.
