Läckö Castle is located on Kållandsö in Lidköping municipality in Västergötland. The castle is located on a headland in the Ekens Archipelago in Lake Vänern and is a reminder of Sweden's time of great power. During the Middle Ages, the castle belonged to the Scarab bishops, but was transferred to the crown in 1527. In 1618, it was granted to Jacob De la Gardie, together with the associated counties.

Höstens evenemang
Även under höst och vinter finns det många anledningar att besöka vårt vackra Läckö. Läckö Castle stands on a cliff beside Lake Vänern, enticing you with its Baroque splendour, sensuous gardens, shining treasures and ancient medieval vaults. Läckö Castle, best known as the fabulous De la Gardie Castle on the shores of Lake Vänern, has medieval origins.

Visit the naturum
In our exhibition you can learn more about Lake Vänern and the archipelago around it. Here you can watch, read about and even listen to the inhabitants of Lake Vänern as they tell little stories from their everyday lives.
Good to know before your visit
