Good to know

Before you visit Läckö, there are some things you might want to know, such as that dogs are not allowed in Läckö Castle or Victoria House.

Here you will find information that is useful to know before your visit to us. If you still have any questions before your visit, you can contact us, info@lackoslott.se or 0510-48 46 60.

  • Dogs

Dogs are of course allowed in the area outside the buildings (i.e. outside the castle walls and the nature centre) and on the outdoor terraces. If you need help with water or similar for your four-legged friend, just ask one of our staff.

  • Car parking

It is the large gravel car park that applies to all visitors. We have day parking in the area, you pay SEK 50 and can stay all day. You can pay by card or with Easy Park, where you can pay via SMS or app. The zone number for regular car parking is 2340. If you come with a motorhome, the zone number is 2341.

If you are staying at the hotel, you do not need to pay the fee, you will receive a parking ticket at check-in.

Worth knowing! The parking fees go in full to support the activities at Läckö Castle and Naturum. Thank you for your support!

Tips! If you visit us several times during the year, you can buy a season pass (SEK 100). You can buy the card in the Victoria House, the Castle Shop, the Camping Reception or in Lidköping at the Tourist Office.

  • Charge your electric car

It is possible to charge electric cars in our visitor car park. Instructions on payment etc are available at the charging points.

  • Book a guided tour

Regular guided tours do not need to be booked, but it is possible to pre-purchase your ticket. If you are a group of more than 20 people, please contact us, 0510-48 46 60, and book in advance.

  • Photography and drones

    Photography (private individuals)
As a private person, you are welcome to take photographs on Läckö for private purposes, but remember not to disturb other guests with your photography. Of course, you can publish your pictures on your social media, please write that it is pictures of Läckö you publish or tag us in your pictures.

Think about this before you take cards:
    - Avoid taking photos if it is inconvenient or disturbing for other guests
    - If you want to take a photo of someone, ask first if they are OK with it.
    - Do not publish pictures online showing alarm devices etc.
    - If you are unsure whether you are allowed to photograph something, please ask our staff.

    Drones (private individuals)
You are allowed to fly and film with drones on the site, but we reserve the right to ensure that you are not flying illegally and to ask you to stop your flight if you behave inappropriately. When you fly a drone, you have a responsibility to stop the flight if it poses a risk to other aircraft, people, animals, the environment and property.

    Rules for drone flights:
    - The Swedish Transport Agency's rules for drone flying must always be followed. It is the responsibility of the drone operator to know and ensure compliance with the rules. We reserve the right to ask for an operator ID and drone card in exceptional cases.
    - Defence forces often conduct low-level flights over Läckö. Stop your drone flight immediately if you detect incoming flights.
    - Läckö Castle is a listed building and must not be damaged. We therefore ask that you do not fly within 50 metres of the castle, nor over the castle. Activities are taking place in the castle's courtyards, which means that you risk flying over a crowd, which is not allowed.
    - We have a rich bird life around Läckö. You should be aware that there is a risk that large birds may strike down drones in defence of nests and young.

Professional photography, filming and drone flying
For those who professionally photograph, film or fly drones, different rules apply than for
    private individuals.

As professional practice often requires technical equipment such as studio lights, etc., you should notify us of your visit well in advance of your planned stay with us.

The basic rule is that modelling, filming etc. may take place when we do not have other visitors at the castle. We also reserve the right to invoice a fee for accompanying staff with fire and security responsibilities, if necessary, and in some cases also a licence fee for the use of land or building.

Contact us early in your planning and we will help you. 0510-48 46 60 or info@lackoslott.se

  • Barbecue areas

You are welcome to barbecue on our prepared barbecue areas. There are barbecue areas at the western and eastern guest harbours and under our weather shelter next to the car park. On the Roparudden hiking trail, west of the castle, there is also a barbecue area by the water.

  • Accessibility

    The castle and garden
The castle and gardens have many stairs and no lift. If you use a wheelchair or walker it is possible to get into the courtyards, however, the castle is on a hill and the path into the courtyards also has some incline. It is possible to drive a car up to the castle entrance to drop off people with disabilities, unfortunately you cannot park your car at the entrance.

For events at Stora Borggården, such as the opera, it is possible to book seats with space for wheelchairs.

In the Little Castle Garden there are now handrails on one side of all the staircases, and at the back there is a ramp to enable wheelchairs etc to access the lower level of the garden. Please speak to our staff and we will help you.

    Car parking
In the large gravel car park there are several parking spaces marked disabled parking for those with a permit. If you are staying at the hotel or visiting the Victoria House, you can also park in the car parks next to the Victoria House.

From the gravel car park there are gravel paths leading to the castle and Victoria House.

    Bathing area
The site has a beach and a wide jetty with stairs that you can use to get into the water. The Victoria House is located next to the bathing area with an accessible toilet.

    Victoria House
The picnic area, nature centre exhibition, accessible toilets and reception are all on the ground floor. The hotel rooms are on the first floor, and there is a lift. There are also markings in the floor to make it easier for those with visual impairments.

The exhibition in the visitor centre has wide aisles between the stands so you can move around easily, and there are plenty of places to rest.

The restaurant is located on one level with flexible furniture, if you have questions about your restaurant visit, please call 0510-48 46 60 and we will help you.

The hotel has a room with more space and a private accessible bathroom.
