Friends of Läckö

The purpose of the Friends Association is to support the activities at Läckö Castle through grants for various clearly defined projects. The association's members act as ambassadors and spread positive information about the castle and the many successful activities there. In 2019, the association passed 1000 members, during the corona pandemic the number of members has since decreased but we hope to be over 1000 members again soon. Join the community around Läckö Castle you too!

Travelling

Spring outing 14 May 2026

On 14 May (Ascension Day), we visit Horn with Northern Europe's only wood-fired brickworks with handmade bricks. Many cultural-historical buildings would not be properly renovated without this. We gather at 10:30 at the brickworks. Bring your own coffee. Cost 120 SEK per person. Horn is north of Skövde - feel free to carpool!

Registration by e-mail to Mr Håkan Ekesbo or tel 0702-77 71 99 by 6 May.
Payment via the association's bg 5749-1474 or Swish 123 39 28 181.

Autumn Journey West 5-6 September 2026

Without Varberg Fortress, the De la Gardie family would probably not have become Swedish. Was it obvious that we would become Protestants?
On 5-6 September we go west and immerse ourselves in this, but we also visit four castles and manor houses from four centuries. Nääs, Tjolöholm, Varberg and Gunnebo we hope to catch up with.
Departure Saturday at 7am from Skara and Lidköping at 7.30am. Return at approximately 18:00 on Sunday. Lunch and dinner together on Saturday. Overnight stay in Varberg.
Registration by e-mail to Mr Håkan Ekesbo before 10 August or 0702-777199. Notify any food allergies. Cost SEK 4,200 per person in a double room, single room supplement SEK 300. Payment to the association's Bg 5749-1474 alt. Swish 123 39 28 181 before 10 August.

The project

Presentation of feasibility study 2023 and 2024 on new cycle path to Läckö

For two years, Läckö Vänner has led a feasibility study together with Kållandsöföreningen regarding a cycle path to Läckö. The Grevillis Fund has contributed funds to the feasibility study.
The currently proposed route passes 18 developable visitor destinations. The municipality of Lidköping is proposed to be the principal for Läcköleden.
- "Throughout the work, we have been met with great and positive commitment locally from residents, interest groups and the appointed steering group together with other partners. This has been a crucial success factor for the project," says Carl Henrik Ohlsson, who has led the project.
