Voices of the factory

Two decades have passed since Rörstrand's porcelain production in Lidköping was closed down. The knowledge and people were scattered to the wind, but the memories still live on.

The heart of Rörstrand was its people.

In the exhibition you will meet sixteen of the ’Rörstranders’ who, with heart and great craftsmanship, created objects for both pleasure and use. Through filmed interviews, photographs, artefacts and short texts, they tell about life at the factory. Stories about everyday life among kilns, clay, glazes and decorations, about starting work straight after school, about crafts that have been handed down and about the Rörstrand spirit that was in the walls.

The exhibition is produced by Rörstrand Museum and is on display in the forecourt between 14 June - 13 September.
