Children's castle

A castle can be incredibly exciting. We take care of the young ones at Läckö Castle in various adventures, all directly adapted to the needs of children. The youngest can reach the floor with their feet in the Little Castle Theatre, lively legs can go on a treasure hunt and the oldest can walk through secret passages that the adults don't know about.

Naturum Vänerskärgården - Victoriahuset

Naturum Vänerskärgården - Victoriahuset is located at Läckö Castle, at the far end of Kållandsö, right on the shore of Lake Vänern. Inside and outside the house you will meet the Väner archipelago. Go exploring in the exhibition. Listen to the animals and plants that live in the archipelago or sit on the bridge deck with binoculars.

At naturum Vänerskärgården - Victoriahuset there are lots of family activities. Study bugs under a magnifying glass (or why not your own thumb?), meet a dragonfly larva eye to eye or draw a ladybird. You can go on a quiz walk, or why not play the superpower game along the nature trail. Accompanied by a nature centre guide, the family can go on a bug safari every day during the summer.

Lake Vänern Museum

The Vänermuseet in Lidköping has aquariums and basic exhibitions. Here, research, maritime history, exciting exhibitions and childishly fun adventures come together. People's lives are depicted through the centuries, on Lake Vänern and in the city. Man in symbiosis with nature, from stories about the harsh conditions of the sailors, to the everyday life of the fishing peasant family.

Children can crawl through the passageways to the mermaid's cave, steer the sailing ship or take the plunge into deep water in the museum's horror cabinet. In the aquarium section you can meet several of Lake Vänern's fish species and the museum shop has a wide range of souvenirs, organic and fair trade products.
