Study circle: 400 years of Mary Euphrosyne
This year marks the 400th anniversary of the birth of Mary Euphrosyne of the Palatinate. Her life was characterised by great contrasts, and there was much that was heartfelt in both joy and sorrow. She married Magnus Gabriel De la Gardie for love. She gave birth to eleven children but lost eight. The lavish life of abundance at Läckö and other castles and estates was replaced by an inner longing for the heart's prayer and reflection. The study circle is based on new research by respected researchers in the field in Sweden and the UK. The research is presented in two newly published books, both of which are included in the course literature.
